I can only wish Bobby was signed before the season would start but that would mean a new owner!

They're all staying and add Anderson to the mix.

Also, their is still a deal to be made probably in a round training camp.

Back to summer vacation.

Enjoy everyone.

I trust you. Enjoy the vacation. Thanks for the word!

I also believe a deal is coming. Murray still needs his hard top six player.

During the CJOH interview with Turris last night you could not help but notice the confidence of these guys. They all seem to really like this team.

Fantastic deal for a good young goalie IMO.

So Dorion says that this is a playoff team. He also says the Senators are closing in on one more deal.

Possibly involves Anderson and a couple of forwards? Who needs a goalie?

Buffalo - but our goaltending is our strength, I don't see them trading Anderson this season

Oops, made a mistake. Garrioch just quoted Dorion as saying they were still looking at trades. The Anderson reference was someone commenting on the Garrioch tweet.

Not to discount the Sens, a team I do like, but I just don't see them as a playoff team. Not a bottom dweller though, maybe around that 10th mark in the East. Coaching, a #1D, and some good young forwards could get you to the playoffs for sure, won't deny that possibility.

I think you guys should look to move Bobby Ryan now or soon before you get the pending UFA price. My opinion anyway. I just can't see him resigning in Ottawa unfortunately.

I sometimes fear they will pull it off (not unlike the Turris trade). So, he comes to town, proves to be entirely immature, bombs as a player and all the regulars here get together and lynch me.

I think the Senators are really strong down the middle. In Karlsson they have a gifted game changer who is almost always the best player on the ice. But, they are still missing that hard power forward.

I agree on Ryan. I would trade him if he does not sign by 1 September.

It's a legit concern but the problem is that we can't really move him now for futures. The Sens are right at the cap floor and removing Ryan puts us under it. So in any trade we'd be looking for get a 1st, good prospect and a salary dump but a player that can contribute now and not another bad deal like Neil or Greening or Phillips... Unfortunately he may not be moved easily, and what team can offer a good package and also take on his salary?

Sweet deal for The Lehner! Hunting time

Not sure i could handle the media and fanbase if BR6 remains unsigned going into the season.

This fanbase has been through a lot recently would be nice to have things go as planned for a change!

Management still has to make a move with our d.

7 players on 1 way deals,

You throw in Ceci (who makes the team) that's 8

This, to me, is one of the pressing issues facing the team. We need to address this glut of 5-6 defensemen.

People keep proposing these quantity for quality trades, and I just don't see those happening. At a certain point, it will be trading quality for quality or player for pick to a team who has a temporary hole to fill.

I see Borowiecki going on waivers, even his NHL salary is pretty cheap.

If nothing else changes:

Cowen - EK
Methot - Ceci
Wiercioch - Gryba
Phillips

Which, really still sucks. Ceci is okay, but not good enough for 2nd pair. These pairings will be pretty fluid. I like the idea of having a PMD on each pair, but I don't know if it works. Any way you line these guys up, there are some pretty major problem areas. Pairings that probably won't work:

Cowen - Ceci (just plain weak)
Methot - Ceci (methot is 2nd pairing quality, Ceci is not)
Wiercioch - Ceci (two PMD's? Nope.)
Phillips - ?? (weak)

Evander Kane is still out there - he's right in Ottawa's wheel house, perfect age, LW, long term contract at a decent cap hit, Eastern Conference and we have a ton of young players to trade. Also, it was rumoured Andrew Ladd was on the block

Ott: Ladd
Winn: Greening, Puempel

Mac - Turris - Ryan
Ladd - Zibby - Chiasson
9MM - Legwand - Stone
Condra - Smith - Neil

2 years at $4.5 - trade Greenings contract and you and it costs us just under $2 million in extra salary.
